One of the things that I was most looking forward to was getting to Bolivia and seeing their traditional national dress that is still so important to them and still going strong. The ladies that wear the cultural costume are called Cholita's and the outfits have remained the same since the 18th century. Very few young Bolivian women dress in this way so it is my guess that this way of dressing will have died out within the next 20 years or so. The exotic looking skirts, aprons, shawls, woolly socks and bowler hats are worn by most women past a certain age, some more extrovert than others.
